Distinguished, much like Staff, Senior Staff, and Principal, can assume a breadth-first or depth-first approach to scope. Both approaches have the added responsibility detailed below.

You up-level WHOOP engineering across departments and contribute back to the public industry. You represent and drive WHOOP’s engineering brand as an industry leader.

Distinguished engineers differentiate themselves through their industry expertise and contributions back to the global industry. Impacting an industry could come in many forms e.g. major contributions to open source technology used by other companies, development of new technology, driving research and development on a topic, or being a leading advisor in an industry.
